Inside Mount

Let's make sure you have what you need!
1. A metal tape measure
2. Pen and paper to record all measurements
3. Check if you have sufficient depth: Measure inside the window opening from the front to the back of the opening where the blind would mount. The depth must be at least 3 inches . If your depth is not sufficient please see our outside mount instructions

How to Measure
1. Let's start with the Width:
Inside of the window opening/frame measure from left to right at the top of the opening, the middle of the opening, and then the bottom of the opening. Write down all 3 measurements and circle the narrowest. If rounding is necessary, round down to the nearest 1/8”. That is your ordering width.

2. Now, let's do the Height:

Inside of the window opening/frame measure from the top of the opening to the bottom of the opening/sill on the left-hand side, the middle, and on the right-hand side. Write down all 3 measurements and circle the tallest. That is your ordering height.

Note: The factory will make the necessary deduction of approximately 3/8" to your Width to account for movement in the window opening and to ensure that the valance will fit. No deductions will be made to your Height

Depth Required
Honeycomb | All Corded (2 Inches )
25MM Honeycomb Cordless(2 Inches )
38MM Honeycomb Cordless(3 Inches )
Double Roller Blind (2 Inches)
Zebra Roller Blind (3.5 Inches)

Top-Tip for Roller Blinds:
Remember that the brackets and operating mechanism are included in the width that you order (they all have to fit inside the recess). The result is that the fabric on a roller blind will be approximately 35mm narrower than the width measurement of the recess. This can result in a notable light gap around the edges of the blind in the recess and therefore if you are aiming for the best possible blockout, we recommend face-fitting rather than recess-fitting.

Outside Mount: On The Trim

Before you start measuring, decide whether you will mount on the window trim or above the window trim. Perhaps you are measuring for a door mount? We have instructions for that too! Please note that you must have 1" of flat space to mount the bracket on the trim. If you do not have sufficient space, you will need to mount to the side of your trim or above your trim.

Width:
At the top of your window on the outside of the trim, measure from left to right. That is your ordering width.

Height:
Measure from the top of your trim to the bottom of your trim or your windowsill. That is your ordering height. The blind will be made to the height you order with a minimal + 3/4" tolerance.

A Note on Roller Blinds:
When measuring the width, remember that you are measuring for the placement of the brackets, not the fabric width. The fabric on a roller blind will be approximately 30mm smaller than the width you provide and you may get a light gap around the edges.

Outside Mount:Above The Trim

Before you start measuring, decide whether you will mount on the window trim or above the window trim. Perhaps you are measuring for a door mount? We have instructions for that too! Please note that you must have 1" of flat space to mount the bracket on the trim. If you do not have sufficient space, you will need to mount to the side of your trim or above your trim.

Width:
Looking above your window trim, decide what area you would like to cover. Measure from left to right of that area and that is your ordering width.

Height:
Measure from the top (where you will mount the blind on the wall) to the bottom of your trim or windowsill. That is your ordering height. The blind will be made to the height you order with a minimal + 3/4" tolerance.

Top-Tip for All Blinds:
If you are replacing an existing blind with one of the same size, simply measure the blind (including its fittings) and specify face fitting, we will make you one the same size.

Top-Tip for Roller Blinds:
Take into account that you are measuring for the placement of the brackets, not the width of the fabric. On a roller blind, the fabric will be approximately 30mm narrower than the width you order, check that you have allowed enough overlap for the fabric to cover the area adequately.
